PM: More Than 1 Million Vocational Trainees Will Meet Enterprise Needs

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen estimates that vocational training for 1.5 million impoverished students will help meet the needs of small and medium enterprises, in accordance with Royal Government policy.

The Prime Minister spoke at a conference for small, medium and handicraft enterprises on the afternoon of 10 April 2023, urging the Ministry of Industry and relevant institutions to collaborate with the Ministry of Labor to provide vocational training to address the lack of human resources and help small and medium enterprises in Cambodia.

"One-point-five million workers in the future will cover more than one million small and medium enterprises," he said.

The Prime Minister reiterated that according to the Royal Government’s policy, the students will not be required to pay for their training.

The government aims to provide vocational training to 1.5 million impoverished Cambodian students by 2023 or early 2024. This training will be provided free-of-charge and students will receive payment for the services they provide.
